Room fit starts with fixed boundaries, then adds circulation and product dimensions. This order makes conflicts visible before a purchase narrows the options.
Measurement order
Measure wall-to-wall width and length first. Then record doors, windows, radiators, outlets, vents, built-ins, and the direction each door swings. Mark the usable wall segments rather than treating the perimeter as uninterrupted space.
Recheck the smallest or most awkward measurement. Use either imperial or metric planning inputs consistently. Exact product dimensions can be entered in either system: inches or feet, or centimeters or meters. Convert before comparing sources that use different units.

When a layout fails, change one constraint at a time: reduce product depth, move the focal point, choose a smaller nominal size, or preserve the more important circulation route. Do not solve a visual imbalance by blocking access or forcing a door to open partially.
